The box office is a battlefield, and Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff are the victors. Their film War, which hit the screens yesterday, has wreaked much havoc and earned Rs 53.35 crore on its opening day, smashing the records of several other films along the way.
Here’s a list of the films that it defeated in terms of highest-openings of all time in India.
- Avengers Endgame: Rs 53.10 crore
- Thugs of Hindostan: Rs 52.25 crore
- Happy New Year: Rs 44.97 crore
- Bharat: Rs 42.30 crore
- Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: Rs 40.35 crore
- Sultan: Rs 36.54 crore
- Dhoom 3: Rs 36.22 crore
- Sanju: Rs 34.75 crore
- Tiger Zinda Hai: Rs 34.10 crore
- Chennai Express: Rs 33.12 crore
Apart from these records, war box office collections day 1 is both Hrithik’s and Tiger’s biggest opening till date. It is also YRF’s all-time highest-opener.
